Timeframe M1 · unit norm
The signed difference (+DI minus −DI) between upward and downward directional movement. Combines the direction and magnitude of the DI comparison into a single signed number.
Positive: buyers are dominating the directional movement on this period. Negative: sellers dominate. Zero: perfectly balanced or no directional movement. Combine with ADX level for trend confirmation.
DI Spread is a battle scorecard. Positive means buyers won more of the range battles recently; negative means sellers won. The larger the number, the more lopsided the recent contest.
Janira computes DI Spread 14 (M1) deterministically from live price action, the same way for every reading - no discretion, no hidden weighting. This page explains the method; it is not a live reading and not advice.
