Timeframe M1 · unit %
Percentage gap between the current close and its 20-bar exponential moving average - a mean that weights recent bars more heavily than older ones.
Because the EMA reacts faster than the SMA, it hugs price more tightly. Gaps above +0.3 % or below −0.3 % already indicate a notable push away from the adaptive mean.
Think of the EMA as a shadow that follows price but leans forward. When price runs ahead, this number grows; when price lags, it shrinks or turns negative.
Janira computes EMA Distance 20 (M1) deterministically from live price action, the same way for every reading - no discretion, no hidden weighting. This page explains the method; it is not a live reading and not advice.
