Timeframe M1 · unit score
Signed accumulation of absorption candle quality over 14 bars. Absorption occurs when volume is high but the body is small - both buyers and sellers are active and one side is absorbing the other without price moving much.
Positive: absorption bars closed above midpoint - buyers absorbed sellers at high volume. Negative: absorption bars closed below midpoint - sellers absorbed buyers. Near zero: no significant absorption pattern.
Absorption is when a large fight happens between buyers and sellers, but the price barely moves because one side is soaking up all the orders. Like a sponge absorbing water - a lot of activity with little net displacement.
Janira computes Absorption Score 14 deterministically from live price action, the same way for every reading - no discretion, no hidden weighting. This page explains the method; it is not a live reading and not advice.
