What it measures

Average ratio of candle body size to total range (high-low) over the last 14 bars. Measures how much of each bar's movement was committed (body) versus contested (wicks).

How Janira reads it (bullish vs bearish)

Near 1.0: candles closed near their extremes - directional conviction in recent bars. Near 0.0: most of the range was given back in wicks - indecision or reversal probing.

In plain language

Imagine a candle stick. The solid part in the middle (the body) is what the market actually decided; the thin lines (wicks) are territory it entered but gave back. A high ratio means the market meant it.

Scenarios

• Body ratio above 0.7: recent bars were conviction-candles that held their gains or losses - directional momentum is well-expressed.
• Body ratio below 0.3: candles are wick-heavy, meaning the market is probing levels and rejecting them - potential reversal zones being tested.
• Body ratio falling from 0.7 to 0.3 after a trend: candle structure is deteriorating - the directional move may be losing its footing.
• Body ratio low in a sideways market: normal for consolidation - both sides are testing but neither commits.
