Timeframe M1 · unit score
Scores the bar-to-bar price structure over 20 bars by counting higher highs and higher lows (bullish structure) versus lower highs and lower lows (bearish structure). Returns a signed normalized score: +1 means fully bullish staircase, -1 means fully bearish breakdown.
Range -1 to +1. Values above +0.2 indicate a dominant sequence of higher highs and higher lows - classic textbook uptrend bar structure. Below -0.2 indicates a dominant sequence of lower highs and lower lows - classic downtrend structure. Near 0 means alternating or indeterminate structure.
A healthy uptrend makes a staircase pattern: each step is higher than the last (higher highs), and each pullback stops higher than the prior pullback (higher lows). This score measures whether the last 20 bars are building that pattern or its downward mirror.
Janira computes HL Structure 20 deterministically from live price action, the same way for every reading - no discretion, no hidden weighting. This page explains the method; it is not a live reading and not advice.
