Up/Down Ratio 20Cross-asset & regime

Timeframe M1 · unit ratio

What it measures

Counts the number of upward versus downward close-to-close moves over 20 bars and expresses their imbalance as a signed score. Positive = more up bars, negative = more down bars.

How Janira reads it (bullish vs bearish)

Range -1 to +1. Values above +0.2 mean at least 60% of bars closed higher than the previous bar - buyers dominated the sequence. Below -0.2 means sellers dominated. Near 0 indicates a balanced alternation of up and down bars, consistent with low-conviction oscillation.

In plain language

Think of it as a vote count: each bar casts a vote for 'up' or 'down'. This score shows whether buyers or sellers won the most votes over the last 20 bars. A score near +1 means buyers won almost every bar.
