Ultimate OscillatorMomentum

Timeframe M1 · unit pts

What it measures

The Ultimate Oscillator combines buying-pressure-to-true-range ratios across three different periods (7, 14, and 28 bars) with weights 4, 2, and 1 respectively. Here it is shifted by −50 so 0 is neutral. It attempts to capture momentum across multiple time horizons simultaneously.

How Janira reads it (bullish vs bearish)

A positive reading means that buying pressure has exceeded the true range on average across all three timeframes - a broadly confirmed bullish momentum. Negative means selling pressure has dominated across all three windows. The multi-period nature dampens false signals from any single window.

In plain language

Most oscillators only look at one time window. The Ultimate Oscillator looks at three (7, 14, and 28 bars) and blends them into one number, giving more weight to the short-term (×4) than the long-term (×1). Near zero = momentum balanced across all timeframes.
